I can do this, and I can also add these symbols myself. :-) > Basically, when building a UTF-8 document LaTeX-UCS handles 0x229E > (\boxplus) and 0x229F (\boxminus) correctly if you use the amssymb > package, but cannot handle 0x25A2 (the box without anything inside). > The following workaround appears in all of my documents that use these > characters: > > \DeclareUnicodeCharacter{9634}{$\square$} This is not exactly right. 25A2 is "WHITE SQUARE WITH ROUNDED CORNERS". Unfortunately I cannot find a corresponding LaTeX symbol (not even in the comprehensive list). \square would match 25A1 "WHITE SQUARE", but this is already present in latex-ucs. I do not like to use \square for 25A2, because it would be wrong. Users should be aware that there is no LaTeX counterpart (at least not in the standard packages) instead of silently getting wrong characters. Do you happen to know an appropriate LaTeX symbol for this? If so, I'd be happy to add it, otherwise I can't do anything about this.
