Subject: drupal5: Initial installation not obvious
Package: drupal5
Version: 5.1-2
Severity: normal

Looking at bug reports and ignoring the fact that 427001 is PostgreSQL, this
sure looks like
427001. I never worked with drupal in any way, shape or form before. I
installed the
package, and similar to snort it insisted it couldn't set up the MySQL
connection itself.

Fine, I made a drupal user and drupal database. I ran dpkg-reconfigure (twice,
once
telling it to make the dbase, or whatever the question like this is exactly).
I was still
getting emails every 5 minutes from cron about problems. The
/usr/share/doc/drupal5 README
(INSTALL?) talks about a MySQL specific SQL setup file in a database directory.
 I don't
have a database directory, and the list of files for the drupal5 package
doesn't have
one either. Speaking of README stuff, I was told to edit settings.php, but
it's really
dbconfig.php that you want us to edit. Anyway, I was off to google to figure
out how to
get away from this email from cron every 5 minutes. It seems that I should run
install.php.
Okay. Looking at the README, it doesn't talk about setting things up from the
HTTP side.
I finally tried http://localhost/ (which didn't really help) and
http://localhost/drupal5

>From the results of entering this last URL, I figured out that
http://localhost/drupal5/install.php for a URL might (actually did?) finish the
install.

Perhaps you can adjust the documentation to reflect what appears to be new
installation
instructions?
