Just to confirm I see the same problem when I try to install Debian 4.0 (Etch) on QEmu on x86_64. The same issue is also detected when installing a SuSE 10.2 in QEMU. However it works when I install fedora 6, mandriva 2007.9/.1 or rhel 4/5.
