Hi Miles, sorry for the delay but I recently adopted
the package and now just begin to investigate bugs.

It's very interesting you use your box with

Locale: LANG=ja_JP.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=ja_JP.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8)

under an assumption that you are surely not a Japanese ;-)

I'm not so sure yet but ipagui seems to come from a Japanese
IPA fonts which, I guess, don't get into official Debian yet.

Do you remember if you installed IPA fonts (or similar name)?
or please test "locate ipagui" (or similar commands).

Next what X Window do you use (i.e. Gnome or KDE or some simple
window manager)? And don't you set a kind of menu font as IPA fonts
with, for example, Gnome's settings?

It seems your system is unstable so there is the latest texmacs
1.0.6.10-1 and I'd like to know if you see the problem with the
latest texmacs too. I knew that there was some problem with
Japanese handling in texmacs 1.0.6.

Thanks for your interest in texmacs.

Regards, 2007-6-1(Fri)
