There's a central cancel mechanism in Jed Ctrl+G. In nearly all situations, if you feel you don't want go on, you can hit Ctrl+G. > I request that the "save file y/n" exit prompt should be altered to > "y/n/cancel", with the "cancel" option returning you to the editor. I would refuse to add such an option, because the common way to cancel actions is ctrl+g, which works with quit.
