I was checking to see what processes I had running and noticed that I had an instance of that torrent still downloading (even though I'd managed to complete it a little while back). The odd thing is that I didn't have a window open for that torrent even though I'd been using bittornado-gui. I'm wondering if after failing to download earlier, and me then closing the window, the process didn't stop properly and was interfering with the download I'd started with the new package (hope that makes some kind of sense). Anyhow, the other torrents that I have running (and have had running since I installed the updated package) all seem to be OK. So I'm going to say that it seems to have done the job. Of course if I do get a torrent that gives the same problems I'll send the link for testing. Thanks for your time.
