Hi

Thank you for these detailed instructions, it does indeed only happen
when gksu is in su mode.

The following line

        gksu 'gnome-cups-manager --properties CUPS-(PDF)'

Works fine with sudo, but fails with su. I'm guessing this is a bug in
gksu and not gnome-cups-manager but I'm cc'ing the gksu developer to be
sure.
