Severity: critical

I am installing using the 'testing' i386 dvd snapshot from 20070524.
This is installing on an AMD Geode GX3 board. The programs all fail
with 'Floating point exception." and I can't install Debian on the
system as a result. Everything else seems to work fine except for
these programs. Any mkfs.* variant fails in this same manner.

Are there any kernel parameters which control FPU behavior on this GX3
CPU? I can't find any reports of similar problems from anyone else.
This is with kernel 2.6.18.4-486 which comes on the Debian CD.
Everything in dmesg appears normal, all other hardware detected and
works fine.

CPU: AMD Geode(TM) Integrated Processor by AMD PCS Stepping 02
