Package: atlas3-base-dev Version: 3.6.0-20.6 Severity: wishlist
Are you planning to migrate atlas to gfortran? Using gfortran -ff2c is insufficient for code that mixes the single-precision BLAS/LAPACK and intrinsics. Intrinsics will return a single in single, and the f2c ABI returns singles in double. On x86-like platforms, mixing the two silently produces garbage results. (Plus, we're likely to start using F90 features in LAPACK. So at some point gfortran will be necessary.) -- System Information: Debian Release: lenny/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable'), (500, 'testing'), (1, 'experimental') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 2.6.22-rc2-hrt7-ejr-tst7 (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Versions of packages atlas3-base-dev depends on: ii atlas3-base 3.6.0-20.6 Automatically Tuned Linear Algebra ii atlas3-headers 3.6.0-20.6 Automatically Tuned Linear Algebra ii g77 4:3.4.6-21 The GNU Fortran 77 compiler atlas3-base-dev recommends no packages. -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
