Package: engauge-digitizer-doc Version: document select mode Severity: normal
For my first hour using engauge, I was annoyed by the lack of an "undo" function. I had to edit the exported file manually to delete bad points. And I *did* RTFM. Eventually I figured out Select Mode by trial and error. That needs to be documented in at least two places: 1) Please add something like this to the Manual Line Graph Tutorial just before "export the curve points": To delete a point, choose Select Mode (arrow on the tool bar), select the point by clicking on it, and press "delete". You can also drag selected points, or move them with cursor keys. For other ways to select points, see <link>. To return to adding points, choose Digitize Curve Point or Segment Fill mode. 2) The documentation for Select Mode explains how to select, but doesn't say what can be done with the selected points. Please add something like: Selected points can be deleted with <del>, <backspace>, cntl-X, or "Edit | Cut". They can be moved by dragging with the mouse or with the cursor keys. What else can you do with a selection? In particular, what does "Edit | Copy" do? - Jim Van Zandt -- System Information: Debian Release: 4.0 APT prefers unstable APT policy: (990, 'unstable'), (500, 'oldstable'), (500, 'testing'), (500, 'stable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Kernel: Linux 2.6.17 Locale: LANG=C, LC_CTYPE=C (charmap=ANSI_X3.4-1968) -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
