Package: spamassassin
Version: 3.2.0-1
Severity: normal

Mail from Cron Daemon:

  run-parts: /etc/cron.daily/spamassassin exited with return code 1

but from sa-update we learn:

  # by default, exit code is 1, to indicate no updates occurred
  my $exit = 1;

So the cronjob should be able to cope with that exit code gracefully instead
of bombing out and mailing the root account.
