Package: puppet Version: 0.20.1-1 Severity: important Puppet has a default mode of 1777 for 'rundir', and will set this mode without any explicit configuration.
The Debian configuration for puppet sets rundir to /var/run. Hence the permissions for /var/run are set to 1777 unless overridden. A quick grep for 1777 in the source shows that the offending code is in configuration.rb.
