I do have a fix for this issue - involving upgrading libgpevtype,
libeventdb and gpe-calendar to SVN versions and closing the ITP for
libhandoff, also from SVN.

Unfortunately, upstream doesn't seem likely to make a release
particularly soon (due to disagreements over the use of the GPL for
libraries, instead of the LGPL). This situation doesn't affect Debian
(or Emdebian) so I'm quite happy to either use SVN or even manage a
temporary release location for the GPL versions.

CC'ing the maintainer of the other packages.

I've test built the packages that depend on these libraries (except
gpe-bluetooth which is only in experimental) and the current version of
gpe-contacts builds and runs as before with the upgraded libraries,
despite the SONAME transition in each library.

libgpevtype goes to SONAME=1
libeventdb goes to SONAME=2

Moray: What do you think? (I know we've only just got through one
transition but I'm confident that this one is painless.)
