Just to say something because it is still marked as new.
I propose that we will NOT include the .dvi/.pdf files at all. Too much
hassle.

We could drop uuencoded files into
texlive-new/texlive-{base,bin...}/debian/$pkg.root/usr/share/doc/..
and unpack them at merge-dist-tree time.
Do we want to do this?
(Needs probably only a small hack in the merge-dist-tree scripts)
