Hi, as explained in my last mail[1] and in the ITP[2], we're packaging a dcom/wmi client for linux (called winexe), including the python bindings to wmi, which is based on a part of the Samba sources (including a patch to librpc and using a few other common libraries form the Samba sources). Our goal for the future would be to reduce the size of our orig.tar.gz by removing the samba sources and using the needed libraries and their -dev pacakges as far as possible, as soon as Samba4 hits unstable. In the meantime our package will stay based on r17234 of the Samba sources and will build statically linked executeables.
If you have any opinion/suggestions/onjections, please let us now. Best regards, Bernd Zeimetz for the Zenoss packaging team [1] http://lists.alioth.debian.org/pipermail/pkg-samba-maint/2007-April/001445.html [2] http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=424727 -- Bernd Zeimetz <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> <http://bzed.de/> -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
