For the record, I object to the suggestion that the choice of
"ircservices" as the package name is due to arrogance. While I might
argue a claim to the name merely by virtue of being first, it is
actually the result of nothing more sinister than a lack of imagination
(in fact, the package name was simply "services" through sometime around
1999). I recognize that there are now many more packages out there and
that a more distinguishing moniker might be more appropriate; however,
as the program is already approaching end-of-life, I have no intention
of changing the official package name at this time.
That said, it's your distribution, and if you decide that an
alternate name is more appropriate within your namespace, I'll accept
that.
