Package: hylafax-client Version: 2:4.3.3-1 Severity: normal typerules attempts to match PNG files by using a string with a hexadicecimal character in the first position. This doesn't work. I believe the problem is that hylafax does not understand the \x escape.
I changed the match condition to this 1 string PNG which works, but is probably a bit incautious (e.g., one could probably make a numeric match on the first character and then add the string condition). That seems to be the only \x in the file. The relevant lines seem to be from a Debian-specific patch in 657_typerules.dpatch. With that fix, I've given the rule a try; I used to be using my own custom program to handle PNG's. -- System Information: Debian Release: lenny/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (990, 'testing') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.18-4-686 (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Versions of packages hylafax-client depends on: ii enscript 1.6.4-11 Converts ASCII text to Postscript, ii gs-esp 8.15.3.dfsg.1-1 The Ghostscript PostScript interpr ii gsfonts 1:8.11+urwcyr1.0.7~pre41-3 Fonts for the Ghostscript interpre ii libc6 2.3.6.ds1-13 GNU C Library: Shared libraries ii libgcc1 1:4.1.1-21 GCC support library ii libpam0g 0.79-4 Pluggable Authentication Modules l ii libpaper-util 1.1.21 Library for handling paper charact ii libstdc++6 4.1.1-21 The GNU Standard C++ Library v3 ii libtiff4 3.8.2-7 Tag Image File Format (TIFF) libra ii ucf 3.001 Update Configuration File: preserv ii zlib1g 1:1.2.3-13 compression library - runtime Versions of packages hylafax-client recommends: ii netpbm 2:10.0-11 Graphics conversion tools pn transfig <none> (no description available) -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
