One thing we have in common is a dual > processor/dual core machine - perhaps this might have something to do > with it. I think I saw this on my single processor machine, which died recently. The particular incident reported in this bug happened on a single processor P4 with hyperthreading. This basically appears as a dual processor machine (e.g., the start up messages mention 2 CPU's). If packagesearch has the old binary address of the function and a new library gets loaded, it might be calling the wrong spot. Though one would think the result would be a crash, rather than plain text. Maybe it can't find the html rendererr and falls back on a plain text renderer? > I will try to look into it, but whatever it is, it is not exactly high > priority since it only manifest occasionally. Sounds good. As long as there's some way to get rid of the problem I'm happy. If/when it happens again I'll be sure to check if restarting packagesearch helps. > Thanks for the update, Here are some packages I installed shortly before the problem appeared (or possibly shortly after, since I'd been experiencing it for awhile before I submitted the bug). This isn't a complete list, just things that seemed possibly relevant. None look very promising: [INSTALL, DEPENDENCIES] kdelibs-dbg [INSTALL, DEPENDENCIES] qt-x11-free-dbg [INSTALL] kdepim-dbg [INSTALL, DEPENDENCIES] libcompfaceg1 [INSTALL, DEPENDENCIES] libetpan10 Earlier, May 3, updated libqthreads-12 Ross ------------------------------------------------------- -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
