As of this writing, an upstream version 1.0.63 is available of yacas at http://yacas.sourceforge.net/ . I would appreciate if that version were available for installation through Debian. I would particularily appreciate if that version could be made available for the current Debian stable version Etch. E.g., it would be fine if the package continues to not need anything that's not in Etch, as seems to be the case with the current 1.0.57-3. Alternatively, support through http://www.backports.org/debian would be fine also. Please pardon if a bug report in the official Debian system is not the right place for that second item. If so, just stay with the first.
