Package: aptitude Version: 0.4.4-4 Severity: normal While attempting to install security update for kernel image, the installation hangs when it is unable to detect a /boot/grub/menu.lst file and asks y/N to generate a new file. I've tried both y & N with the same result. This may be a grub problem but it occurred while using aptitude for a security update installation. The next time I start aptitude, I get a message saying I must run dpkg --configure -a first. After I run that command, aptitude will start normally and allow me to reattempt installation.
