Hi Michel, I think that I will try to let the bug come back this week in order to use gdb to check if my problem is similar to #179647. Then, I will try to disable DRI. I would like to follow the instructions from http://wiki.debian.org/XStrikeForce/XserverDebugging and http://wiki.debian.org/HowToGetABacktrace but I did not find xserver-xorg-core-dbg for Etch. Will DEB_BUILD_OPTIONS=nostrip fakeroot apt-get -b xorg-server produce the appropriate packages? (Or do you by chance already have them for powerpc somewhere?)
