Package: postfix Version: 2.1.5-9
GSSAPI authentication to Postfix was working until a dist-upgrade last Saturday, March 2nd. Now attempts to authenticate using GSSAPI produce -
[...]
Apr 7 18:58:09 tor postfix/master[28749]: warning: process /usr/lib/postfix/smtpd pid 29013 killed by signal 11
Apr 7 18:58:09 tor postfix/master[28749]: warning: /usr/lib/postfix/smtpd: bad command startup -- throttling
[...]
I can't be certain whether the problem is with Postfix, or one of the other packages upgraded that day - but I can still authenticate to other services (Cyrus, OpenLDAP, etc) using GSSAPI. I can authenticate to Postfix using saslauthd & Kerberos.
Similar problems have previously been due to library conflicts - parts of SASL are built against Heimdal, though most of Debian is built against MIT Kerberos.
I tried producing a stack trace, incase that might help someone help me - but though I set "ulimit -c unlimited", I couldn't find a "core" anywhere in /var/
I'm running -
ii postfix 2.1.5-9 ii postfix-tls 2.1.5-9 ii libsasl2 2.1.19-1.5 ii libsasl2-gssapi-mit 2.1.19-1.1 ii libsasl2-modules 2.1.19-1.5 ii sasl2-bin 2.1.19-1.5 ii libkrb53 1.3.6-2
- on Debian unstable.
I'm total newb at debugging - I could really use some help!
Many thanks!
Jack
