Hi Horms, I just found out that you tried one year ago to send me a request for more information concerning this bug. The mail never reached me because you only sent it to the bug address and not to the submitter.
Yesterday I discovered that the bug ist still present in the etch release.
The answer to your question:
As far as i know the usage of "scsi add-single-device" never changed. I
could not find any reference to the version "scsi-add-single-device" you
use in the script.
