Package: libuim-dev Version: 1:1.4.1-3 Severity: normal It seems that starting from 1.4.0, uim has a new dependency on libgcroots. This also means that packages building against libuim-dev need to also have libgcroots-dev now, because the /usr/lib/libuim.la has the following line: dependency_libs=' /usr/lib/libgcroots.la -ldl'
But since the package that use uim doesn't use libgcroots directly (i.e., doesn't include any headers from libgcroots directly), I think it makes more sense to have libuim-dev have a dependency on libgcroots-dev, instead of having all packages that use uim adding a new build dependency. On a related note, I see that libuim-dev depends on libm17n-dev currently. I remember reporting a similar bug like this asking this dependency to be added. As it seems there is no mention of libm17n anymore, maybe this dependency can be dropped?
