Hi,
I'm having the same problem with the nvidia drivers. I have built
the nvidial kernel module (version 1.0.8776+4) and on boot up, Xorg
fails to start- if I switch to a console (e.g. ctrl-alt-F2) and then
back to the X display (ctrl-alt-F7) I see alternating patterns of lines,
weird blocks or other garbage. If I restart gdm (and by extension X?)
everything is fine. I tried building the legacy driver and this problem
disappeared- but then the whole thing would hard lock after a few
minutes of use. System specs are below.
HP TC1000, Transmeta Crusoe Processor
Debian Testing (lenny/sid)
Kernel: Linux 2.6.18 (Custom- optimized for Crusoe; no APIC support or
troublesome framebuffer options)
nvidia-kernel-source package version 1.08776-4
nvidia-kernel-common package version 20051028+1
Thanks,
Jeremiah
