Hi Ghe, thank you for the hint. I just did not expect lswh to report configuration settings for either the kernel's framebuffer or for the X server. In my view, the reported information does not really allow assumptions about the current state of the hardware to be made.
I assumed that the values reported by lshw were purely hardware related and e.g. determined by reading directly from the graphics card's hardware registers. I was looking for a tool with which I would be able to confirm the actual against the supposed device settings and had hoped lshw would do such magic. Thus I would rather not open a whishlist bug report for the X11 configuration to be included, as for me it is sufficient to look at XF86Config-4 directly.
