Package: xemacs21
Version: 21.4.20-1

Hi, I really don't know where to file this bug because I don't
understand the details of what's going on. I'm running unstable and
run aptitude upgrades frequently. Last night I restarted my X session
for the frst time in about a month and xemacs came up with a different
font configuration, whch was both too small and ugly.

I wanted to get back to the old fonts, which looked like:

In the resulting mess I tried a bunch of different fonts, not really
understanding which ones I was looking for and why, until I managed to
produce this picture:

On the right is xfontsel displaying a particular font (Schumacher
Clean), and on the left is xemacs with the same font specified.

What I'm trying to get at, is that I think xemacs's font handling is
screwed up somehow.

Emacs doesn't display this same bug with Schumacher Clean, but both
XEmacs and Emacs are coming up with the small ugly fonts unless I
specify a different font to load. I've tried a bunch of different
fonts to try and get to the original XEmacs font -- the closest I got
was xemacs -fn "-adobe-courier-medium-r-*-*-15-*-*-*-*-*-*-*" -- this
got me:

Please advise. What is the default font of XEmacs? Why did it go away?
Is this something that happened because I run unstable, and got
bitten by a library incompatibility or something?

Thanks for your time.

Ethan
