Package: polipo Version: 0.9.8-1 Severity: wishlist
Hello, Currently when polipo is "offline" it does not even query "localhost" or "127.0.0.1" correctly; and polipo goes offline if it is started on a machine with no external routes. Moreover, as soon as ppp goes down the default is for polipo to go offline---though *this* can be changed by putting in the option "noppp". This is not particularly convenient for frequently disconnected users who might have a local web server which serves local documentation rather conveniently (like dpkg-www for example). I wish polipo would always succeed in connecting to localhost addresses like 127.0.0.1 and ::1. Since polipo "does" provide its own documentation at 127.0.0.1:8123 even in such a situation, this means that the hooks for doing this must be in place. (I haven't looked at the source :-)).
