I can confirm this for the Windows side:

- on linux Acrobat Reader 7.0.8 uses Serif fonts
- on windows Acrobat Professional uses correctly ArialSomeThing

So Martin, please tell me, it seems to be a bug of the Acrobat Reader
and not pdftex itself. Do you agree?
