Hi Jean, Here's the result of running the debug version:

This is a new (less than 2 weeks old) machine on which I first installed stable and then updated/dist-upgraded to unstable. Going by what I can see in my apt cache directory, the only other version ever installed on this machine was 28-1, which according to the Debian changelog is what stable would have installed. So I downgraded back to that and: [EMAIL PROTECTED]:/etc/apt$ sudo iwlist eth1 scan eth1 Scan completed : Cell 01 - Address: 00:16:01:2E:CF:D7 ESSID:"whirlpool" Protocol:IEEE 802.11bg Mode:Master Channel:1 Encryption key:on Bit Rates:1 Mb/s; 2 Mb/s; 5.5 Mb/s; 6 Mb/s; 9 Mb/s 11 Mb/s; 12 Mb/s; 18 Mb/s; 24 Mb/s; 36 Mb/s 48 Mb/s; 54 Mb/s Quality=99/100 Signal level=-22 dBm Noise level=-22 dBm IE: WPA Version 1 Group Cipher : TKIP Pairwise Ciphers (2) : CCMP TKIP Authentication Suites (1) : PSK Extra: Last beacon: 72ms ago Note that, in case it matters, I'm running Debian kernel 2.6.20-3 which is kernel.org's 2.6.20.7 plus Debian patches, if I'm reading its package info right. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
