        This could be a bug in your initrd generator.

        Since you did not provide logs of the installation process, it is
 difficult to say why no initrd was generated on the target machine.

        Probably not, but there is not enough information in this report
 to determine where the problem does indeed lie.  If you could provide a
 transcript of the installation, it might be easier to see which initrd
 generation tool was invoked, and why it failed, and if it issued any
 diagnostics.
