thanks

I just had a long discussion with a gentoo user on #ivman in
irc.freenode.net who was experiencing this same problem, and It gave me
more ideas about what your problem could be.

Can you check the following?

Does your ivman daemon run as user ivman (this is the default config in
/etc/ivman/IvmConfigBase.xml).

Is ivman in the plugdev group?

Is /usr/bin/pmount chmod +s?

Is the partition containing /usr/bin/pmount mounted nosuid?

For the guy I was helping in #ivman, his pmount was not suid. However
the fact that restarting ivman worked with pmount not having suid means
that it is possible that ivman is running pmount as root before it drops
privileges, which would be a serious problem, and I'm looking into that
possiblilty.

Thanks,

stew
