Hi,
I can't get the current version (1.4.2-6) of the openafs module to
compile with the installed 2.4.27 kernel (2.4.27-3-686). I tried the
openafs module source in sarge (1.3.81-3sarge2) as well, but that
fails too.
This machine used to run sarge but was recently upgraded to etch. I
think the kernel still corresponds to sarge. We've tried using afs
with the 2.6 kernel. There, the module compiles and works, but we've
had strange problems possibly related to afs.
This isn't an entirely supported configuration (Debian etch dropped
support for 2.4 kernels and I haven't tested that package against 2.4),
but I can try to take a look. Your configure output indicates that all
attempts to build anything against kernel headers are failing. Could you
send your config.log file from an attempted build?
I've sent you the config log directly from the machine in question.
What is the recommended configuration? We've been having problems using
the Etch kernel (2.6.18) and the Etch openafs module.
Faheem.
