Package: mailscanner
Version: 4.55.10-4
Severity: normal
Hello!
After upgrading mailscanner to 4.55.10-4, I could no longer find the
Debian and upstream changelogs, and the following search returns nothing
either:
$ dpkg -c mailscanner_4.55.10-4_all.deb | grep changelog
$ md5sum mailscanner_4.55.10-4_all.deb
b263497c370f3704d22a6ed71dbed84a mailscanner_4.55.10-4_all.deb
Thanks!
When I do this on my local copy, I get the following results:
dpkg -c mailscanner_4.55.10-4_all.deb | grep changelog
-rw-r--r-- root/root 6222 2006-12-20 21:37
./usr/share/doc/mailscanner/changelog.Debian.gz
md5sum mailscanner_4.55.10-4_all.deb
d57a009e21404d9e496f71ac2e2fb3a5 mailscanner_4.55.10-4_all.deb
From where did you get the package? Because 4.55.10-4 is neither in
testing nor in unstable and the md5sum doesn't match.
I'm closing this report, because the md5sum doesn't match and 4.55.10-4
isn't a relevant version.
All of the released versions have a changelog.
Sorry, I missed your earlier message dated 17/03/2007. I apt-get
installed the package from either ftp.jp.debian.org or
ftp.hk.debian.org. I did a search on Google, and found this:
http://lists.debian.org/debian-devel-changes/2007/01/msg00068.html
As you can see, the md5sum for b263497c370f3704d22a6ed71dbed84a listed
there is b263497c370f3704d22a6ed71dbed84a, which matches what I got
earlier. I suspect it was a work-in-progress version that was
inadvertently upload.
Anyhow, thank you for upgrading MailScanner rather frequently, and I'm
already running mailscanner (4.58.9-2) which has none of the above
problems. So yes, thank you for replying, and yes, it is okay to close
this bug report. :-)
Cheers,
Anthony
