Thank you for the response. Here is output of 'ls -l /lib/tls' and content of /var/log/dpkg.log.
BTW, I run mv /lib/tls /lib/tls.old' and then tried upgrade again, but I encountered the same error. Maybe I missed something to do. --- ls -l /lib/tls --- total 2160 drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 4096 Apr 17 11:28 ./ drwxr-xr-x 16 root root 8192 Apr 18 08:18 ../ -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 5448 Feb 21 10:13 libBrokenLocale-2.3.6.so lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 24 Apr 17 11:28 libBrokenLocale.so.1 -> libBrokenLocale-2.3.6.so -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 13652 Feb 21 10:13 libSegFault.so -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 9760 Feb 21 10:13 libanl-2.3.6.so lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 15 Apr 17 11:28 libanl.so.1 -> libanl-2.3.6.so -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 1241392 Feb 21 10:13 libc-2.3.6.so lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 13 Apr 17 11:28 libc.so.6 -> libc-2.3.6.so -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 185780 Feb 21 10:13 libcidn-2.3.6.so lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 16 Apr 17 11:28 libcidn.so.1 -> libcidn-2.3.6.so -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 21868 Feb 21 10:13 libcrypt-2.3.6.so lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 17 Apr 17 11:28 libcrypt.so.1 -> libcrypt-2.3.6.so -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 9592 Feb 21 10:13 libdl-2.3.6.so lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 14 Apr 17 11:28 libdl.so.2 -> libdl-2.3.6.so -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 145136 Feb 21 10:13 libm-2.3.6.so lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 13 Apr 17 11:28 libm.so.6 -> libm-2.3.6.so -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 13644 Feb 21 10:13 libmemusage.so -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 76548 Feb 21 10:13 libnsl-2.3.6.so lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 15 Apr 17 11:28 libnsl.so.1 -> libnsl-2.3.6.so -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 30428 Feb 21 10:13 libnss_compat-2.3.6.so lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 22 Apr 17 11:28 libnss_compat.so.2 -> libnss_compat-2.3.6.so -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 17840 Feb 21 10:13 libnss_dns-2.3.6.so lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 19 Apr 17 11:28 libnss_dns.so.2 -> libnss_dns- 2.3.6.so -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 38372 Feb 21 10:13 libnss_files-2.3.6.so lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 21 Apr 17 11:28 libnss_files.so.2 -> libnss_files-2.3.6.so -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 17856 Feb 21 10:13 libnss_hesiod-2.3.6.so lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 22 Apr 17 11:28 libnss_hesiod.so.2 -> libnss_hesiod-2.3.6.so -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 34320 Feb 21 10:13 libnss_nis-2.3.6.so lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 19 Apr 17 11:28 libnss_nis.so.2 -> libnss_nis- 2.3.6.so -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 38340 Feb 21 10:13 libnss_nisplus-2.3.6.so lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 23 Apr 17 11:28 libnss_nisplus.so.2 -> libnss_nisplus-2.3.6.so -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 5400 Feb 21 10:13 libpcprofile.so -rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 85010 Feb 21 10:13 libpthread-2.3.6.so* lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 19 Apr 17 11:28 libpthread.so.0 -> libpthread-2.3.6.so* -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 67364 Feb 21 10:13 libresolv-2.3.6.so lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 18 Apr 17 11:28 libresolv.so.2 -> libresolv-2.3.6.so -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 26516 Feb 21 10:13 librt-2.3.6.so lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 14 Apr 17 11:28 librt.so.1 -> librt-2.3.6.so -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 26228 Feb 21 10:13 libthread_db-1.0.so lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 19 Apr 17 11:28 libthread_db.so.1 -> libthread_db-1.0.so -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 9656 Feb 21 10:13 libutil-2.3.6.so lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 16 Apr 17 11:28 libutil.so.1 -> libutil-2.3.6.so --- --- dpkg.log --- 2007-04-18 07:48:35 upgrade libc6 2.3.6.ds1-13 2.5-2 2007-04-18 07:48:35 status half-installed libc6 2.3.6.ds1-13 2007-04-18 07:48:36 status half-installed libc6 2.3.6.ds1-13 2007-04-18 08:04:25 upgrade libc6 2.3.6.ds1-13 2.5-2 2007-04-18 08:04:25 status half-installed libc6 2.3.6.ds1-13 2007-04-18 08:04:25 status half-installed libc6 2.3.6.ds1-13 2007-04-18 08:18:07 upgrade libc6 2.3.6.ds1-13 2.5-2 2007-04-18 08:18:07 status half-installed libc6 2.3.6.ds1-13 2007-04-18 08:18:08 status half-installed libc6 2.3.6.ds1-13 --- Best Regards, Yoshihiro Ohba 2007/4/18, Aurelien Jarno <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>:

Could you please send us the output of 'ls -l /lib/tls' as well as the content of /var/log/dpkg.log. This will help us to better understand the problem. Note: to restore your system, you can just do a 'mv /lib/tls /lib/tls.old'. Those file should have been removed by dpkg during the upgrade. -- .''`.
