Package: linux-image Version: 2.6.18-4-686 After upgrading from Sarge to Etch, my system fails to boot with the new kernel (2.6.18-4-686) However, it still boots with the old kernel from Sarge (2.6.8-2).
The system hangs when trying to configure the network interfaces. (I have two network interfaces: lo and eth0, eth0 as you can see below is a Davicom DM9102 card using the dmfe driver, it is configured to use the local IP 192.168.0.2) Here is the full text of dmesg when booting Linux version 2.6.18-4-686 (Debian 2.6.18.dfsg.1-12) ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) (gcc version 4.1.2 20061115 (prerelease) (Debian 4.1.1-21)) #1 SMP Mon Mar 26 17:17:36 UTC 2007 BIOS-provided physical RAM map: BIOS-e820: 0000000000000000 - 000000000009fc00 (usable) BIOS-e820: 000000000009fc00 - 00000000000a0000 (reserved) BIOS-e820: 00000000000f0000 - 0000000000100000 (reserved) BIOS-e820: 0000000000100000 - 00000000077f0000 (usable) BIOS-e820: 00000000077f0000 - 00000000077f8000 (ACPI data) BIOS-e820: 00000000077f8000 - 0000000007800000 (ACPI NVS) BIOS-e820: 00000000ffef0000 - 00000000fff00000 (reserved) BIOS-e820: 00000000ffff0000 - 0000000100000000 (reserved) 0MB HIGHMEM available. 119MB LOWMEM available.
