Package: atm-tools Version: 2.4.1-17 Severity: important Hi,
I use atmarp with my adsl modem. When I upgraded atm-tools via ssh, dpkg stop the atmarp daemon, so my internet connection was sutdown. Hopfully I was in a screen so dpkg could finish its upgrade. But when atmarp was restart, it lose its table and the internet connection wasn't working anymore :( I think you should: - display a big warning before stopping atmarp daemon, and let the user cancel it if he won't lose his connection. - don't stop atmarp - find a way to recover the old state : save /var/run/atmarpd.table and refill it when starting. But this solution still failed if the user upgrade directly via ssh without screen. regards, Matthieu -- System Information: Debian Release: 3.1 APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable'), (1, 'experimental') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.11 Locale: [EMAIL PROTECTED], [EMAIL PROTECTED] (charmap=ISO-8859-15) Versions of packages atm-tools depends on: ii libatm1 2.4.1-17 shared library for ATM (Asynchrono ii libc6 2.3.2.ds1-20 GNU C Library: Shared libraries an -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
