it seems that alsa 1.0.13 is just incompatible with kernels >= 2.6.19, as the changelog from http://www.alsa-project.org/changes/v1-0-13--v1-0-14rc1.txt indicates: - Fix build with the latest 2.6.19-git - Force to read linux/autoconf.h for 2.6.18 or later I tried the alsa-source 1.0.14rc3 from experimental and everything compiled fine.
