Did you try with larger values?
This is what I have done

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ cmkdir alecs1
Key:
Again:
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ cattach alecs1/
Key:
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ dd if=/dev/zero of=large bs=1M count=70
70+0 records in
70+0 records out
73400320 bytes (73 MB) copied, 0,515856 seconds, 142 MB/s
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ time cp large /crypt/alecs1/

real 0m21.417s
user 0m0.004s
sys 0m0.284s

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ dd if=/dev/zero of=large bs=1M count=200
200+0 records in
200+0 records out
209715200 bytes (210 MB) copied, 2,47182 seconds, 84,8 MB/s
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ time cp large /crypt/alecs1/

After 1 minute konqueror is no longer able to show the contents of /, and soon it is not able to show any directory and freezes (other programs start to freeze too. Inside the console ls doesn't work either. Now, if I press ctrl + c or close konsole in, say, less that 2 minutes, everything will work fine, if not everything will freeze, and soon kwin will dye too and no ctrl + alt + backspace, pressing the power button, or other shortcuts will save the system. I don't know if the system will ever finish this, but 5 five minutes seems enough to copy 200 MB, if it takes 20 seconds to copy 70, and having everything freeze
