Package: jffnms Version: 0.8.3dfsg.1-2.1 Severity: normal I am trying to use JFFNMS with PHP5 and Apache2. As long as I install the PHP5 and Apache2 packages before JFFNMS, it seems to work fine. The only issue i am having has to do with saving the jffnms.conf file during the initial configuration of the application.
When I access the setup.php file the first time I use the jffnms url, it will not let me save the changes to the file saying permission is denied. I compared the permissions of the /etc/jffnms and /usr/share/jffnms/conf directories to the permissions on a "Sarge" build version and the only difference is with the /etc/jffnms directory. The "Sarge" build shows www-data:jffnms as the owners, the "Etch" build shows root:root as the owners. If I modify the perimssions of the /usr/share/jffnms/conf directory to 777, I am able to save the jffnms.conf file through the web interface. Otherwise it does not allow it. I have tried this on 3 different builds across 2 different servers with the exact same results. -- System Information: Debian Release: 4.0 APT prefers stable APT policy: (500, 'stable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Kernel: Linux 2.6.18-4-686 Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Versions of packages jffnms depends on: ii adduser 3.102 Add and remove users and groups ii apache2 2.2.3-4 Next generation, scalable, extenda ii apache2-mpm-prefork [httpd 2.2.3-4 Traditional model for Apache HTTPD ii cron 3.0pl1-100 management of regular background p ii dbconfig-common 1.8.29+etch1 common framework for packaging dat ii debconf [debconf-2.0] 1.5.11 Debian configuration management sy ii libapache2-mod-php5 5.2.0-8+etch1 server-side, HTML-embedded scripti ii mysql-client-5.0 [mysql-cl 5.0.32-7etch1 mysql database client binaries ii php5-cli 5.2.0-8+etch1 command-line interpreter for the p ii php5-gd 5.2.0-8+etch1 GD module for php5 ii php5-mysql 5.2.0-8+etch1 MySQL module for php5 ii php5-snmp 5.2.0-8+etch1 SNMP module for php5 ii rrdtool 1.2.15-0.3 Time-series data storage and displ Versions of packages jffnms recommends: ii fping 2.4b2-to-ipv6-14 sends ICMP ECHO_REQUEST packets to ii nmap 4.11-1 The Network Mapper ii ntp 1:4.2.2.p4+dfsg-2 Network Time Protocol daemon and u ii ttf-bitstream-vera 1.10-7 The Bitstream Vera family of free -- debconf information: jffnms/app-password-confirm: (password omitted) jffnms/pgsql/admin-pass: (password omitted) jffnms/pgsql/app-pass: (password omitted) jffnms/password-confirm: (password omitted) jffnms/mysql/app-pass: (password omitted) jffnms/mysql/admin-pass: (password omitted) jffnms/pgsql/authmethod-admin: ident jffnms/remote/newhost: jffnms/purge: false jffnms/erroruid: * jffnms/database-type: mysql jffnms/dbconfig-reinstall: false jffnms/remote/port: jffnms/pgsql/admin-user: postgres jffnms/mysql/admin-user: root jffnms/deletelogs: 7 jffnms/pgsql/method: unix socket jffnms/pgsql/changeconf: false jffnms/compresslogs: 2 jffnms/remote/host: jffnms/pgsql/manualconf: jffnms/errorgid: jffnms/db/dbname: jffnms jffnms/install-error: abort jffnms/mysql/method: unix socket jffnms/dbconfig-upgrade: true * jffnms/dbconfig-install: true jffnms/db/app-user: jffnms jffnms/pgsql/no-empty-passwords: jffnms/dbconfig-remove: jffnms/db/basepath: jffnms/pgsql/authmethod-user: jffnms/upgrade-backup: true jffnms/internal/reconfiguring: false jffnms/remove-error: abort jffnms/upgrade-error: abort jffnms/passwords-do-not-match: jffnms/internal/skip-preseed: false -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
