I'm running latest Debian Etch (stable). In Iceweasel, navigate to "File | Open File..." and when files populate, drag one of the files or directories to a point on the desktop or at least someplace outside of Iceweasel. This hangs everything and I have to press Ctrl-Alt-F1 to login and 'killall firefox-bin' to get things to stop hanging. During this hang the mouse cursor changes to something that looks like an upside down "L".
