Hello all,

I apologise for not replying to Dorileo's previous e-mails. I had reportbug set up with an incorrect e-mail address and never received those messages. I have investigated my problem further with grub-reboot not working as I described and I found that the /boot/grub/default file was being properly updated. Once I modified my menu.lst file to change "default 0" to "default saved", grub-reboot worked as expected. I was able to boot into a different kernel and a subsequent reboot would return to the previous default kernel.

After reading through a few other bug reports (254475 and 412652) I was able to determine that this was the cause. As was posted at the end of bug 254475, it is also my experience that this is different behaviour from version 0.95 where grub-reboot would work when setting "default num" in menu.lst. If it is indeed necessary for "default saved" to be set in menu.lst, I request that the manual page for grub-reboot be updated to include this information.
