Package: laptop-net
Version: 2.26-1
Severity: important

Laptop-net mysteriously stopped working on March 30. Since I do a dselect
upgraded about 4 times a week, I don't believe that it has changed
in the past few days, but it now won't set my ip address correctly.
Instead, it gives me the following configuration:

eth0      Link encap:Ethernet  HWaddr 08:00:46:2B:90:ED
          inet addr:169.254.207.221  Bcast:0.0.0.0  Mask:255.255.0.0
          inet6 addr: fe80::a00:46ff:fe2b:90ed/64 Scope:Link

(instead of ip 128.135.136.88, see below for full conf)
Amazingly, this configuration actually works under many situations,
which is why I didn't notice the problem until today.

The only hint of the problem is /var/log/daemon.log:

Apr  3 18:03:11 gr-visitor laptop-net: Starting network interface "eth0"
Apr  3 18:03:12 gr-visitor ifd[12255]: + RTNETLINK answers: Cannot assign
requested address

Any ideas?
