Hi, FYI: I sent this message also to Bug 294741... I'm not sure, whether this helps, but we had a similar problem today and it turned out to be an apache problem: In httpd.conf, debian has "AddDefaultCharset on" but this makes all browsers interpret all characters as "ISO-8859-1". To set this to "off" is a security-issue, but you can try setting it to: "AddDefaultCharset utf-8"
