But why not take the bundled GD and create a new package (php4-bundled-gd). As I've said before (and you probably already know) it's impossible to use imagerotate() with Debian, unless I compile php4 myself, and loose the pros with APT. imagerotate is a quite often used function on LAMP-installations.
