I did 

    photon --sizelist 0 -o photon ../photos

and see the result of this 

    % fgrep original photon/*.html | head -1

    (...) <a href="original/001-projet-tuteure.jpg"> (...)

As you can see I get jpg extensions, and of course I have png files.
