Package: librxtx-java Version: 2.1.7-2 Severity: important Hi,
Since this package is not available for AMD64, I had to use apt-src build one package. When I build it, I get lots of errors like: dh_testdir dh_testroot dh_installdebconf dh_installdebconf: Compatibility levels before 4 are deprecated. dh_installdocs dh_installdocs: Compatibility levels before 4 are deprecated. ... dh_builddeb dh_builddeb: Compatibility levels before 4 are deprecated. couldn't open /etc/ld.so.conf: No such file or directory at /usr/bin/dpkg-shlibdeps line 155. dpkg-deb: building package `librxtx-java' in `../librxtx-java_2.1.7-2_amd64.deb'. If you want the full log, tell me. Nevertheless, a package is built. After installing it, when I try to use it, I get an exception (in Java): [java] java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError: gnu.io.RXTXCommDriver.nativeGetVersion()Ljava/lang/String; thrown while loading gnu.io.RXTXCommDriver [java] java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: Could not initialize class gnu.io.RXTXCommDriver thrown while loading gnu.io.RXTXCommDriver Looks like the build of librxtxSerial-2.1-7.so is not good. It's 8904 bytes long and contains no symbol: $ nm /usr/lib/librxtxSerial-2.1-7.so nm: /usr/lib/librxtxSerial-2.1-7.so: no symbols I don't know if it's rxtx specific or if it's a problem with dh_* stuff (debhelper=5.0.42) or dpkg-shlibsdeps (dpkg-dev=1.13.25)...
