After update today, mysqld says the following when starting:
/etc/init.d/mysql start
Starting MySQL database server: mysqld...failed.
Please take a look at the syslog.
The syslog says:
Apr 1 08:16:56 focus mysqld_safe[2541]: started
Apr 1 08:16:56 focus mysqld_safe[2547]: ended
When starting mysqld_safe manually, the following happens:
/usr/bin/mysqld_safe
Starting mysqld daemon with databases from /var/lib/mysql
mysqld_safe[2647]: started
STOPPING server from pid file /var/run/mysqld/mysqld.pid
mysqld_safe[2653]: ended
Nothing is generated in the mysql logs - just the syslog.
