Package: udev Version: 0.105-4 Severity: important
I'm using root=UUID=.... to make sure to use the right rootdevice for booting. On a testing system the rootpartition is on SW-RAID (mdadm). Booting using initramfs-tools/udev/mdadm fails because udev does not provide the symlinks in /dev/disk/by-* for the md arrays. It does not work since udev 0.105-1 due to the following change: ,---- [ /usr/share/doc/udev/changelog.Debian.gz ] | udev (0.105-1) unstable; urgency=medium | | [...] | * persistent.rules: ignore md* devices because their add events are | unreliable. `---- Re-enabling the md* devices (so not using the GOTO="no_volume_id" for md* in persistent.rules) provides the symlinks necessary for booting the system via root=UUID=.... regards, -mika- -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
