I'll compare what's expected to what happens... EXPECTED: Plain old F3 (Toggle mark) works like so: % cd /tmp % ls -l /bin > ls.tmp # something to edit % mcedit ls.tmp ...hit "F3", down arrow twice, "F3" again, three lines are marked. "Ctrl-End", "F5", the three lines are copied to the end of the file. "Ctrl-Home", go to top, and the three original lines are still marked. Hit "F3" twice to clear marks. UNEXPECTED: "Ctrl-Home", right arrow key five spaces, "shift-F3" (mark columns), down arrow twice, right arrow 10 spaces, "F3", and a 10-space 3-line area is marked. "Ctrl-End", "F5", the marked area is copied to the end of the file. "Ctrl-Home", go to top, and the three original lines are NO LONGER marked. ...it would be better, (following "the principle of least surprise"), if 'shift-F3' worked like plain old 'F3' -- marked areas should stay marked until the user unmarks 'em. (All bugs aside, "Mark columns" is a nifty feature.)
